Virtual (Free) vs. Physical (Not Free) mail box numbers

A virtual mailbox are for customers who simply want to receive packages whenver they are in town.  There is no commitment, no monthly fee.  You pay per box when you come and pickup your boxes.  We assign you a number and address so you can ship your packages to our location.

A physical mailbox is one that has a key.  We receive your mail, and you come in during working hours and pickup your mail.  At this moment we are only opening up physical mailboxes for customers living overseas.  The fee is $25.00 per month for a small box and it is charged on an annual basis at the beginning of the contract period.

 

How you sign up  

Simply email us a request to info@miamimailbox.com that you would like a mailbox.  Please specify it is going to be physical or virtual.  We will assign you a number and email you the address.

 

Receiving Hours

Monday through Friday:  10:00AM to 5:30PM

Saturdays:  9:00AM to 2:30PM

 

Suspicious Packages

As a receiver of packages, we reserve the right to open and inspect packages if we are suspicious that the package might contain something illegal in nature.  We have received drugs and illegal substances in packages and our company we will not be used as a tool for illegal activities.

If we find and an illegal substance in a package, we will not hesitate to contact the local authorities.  

 

Prohibited Items

We do not accept drugs or firearms, unless the drugs are over the counter or prescription medicine with proper labeling from the pharmacy.

 

Liability for Damaged Packages

If a package has extensive physical damage, we will typically refuse it.  If the driver left and we did not see it before, we will send you pictures so you can contact the shipper.  Most packages come with some kind of crushing on the corners.  We will only contact you if we suspect the contents might be damaged inside.  

 

Liability for Lost Packages

We will not be responsible for packages left outside our building under any circumstances.  When you order online, you must specify that all packages must be delivered inside our lobby.  If for any reason we are closed during business hours, then they must attempt to redeliver.

We receive other people's packages all the time especially from the post office.  If there is a missing package, the delivery company must provide you with a signature from one of our employees.  Just because they say they delivered it, doesn't work for us.  UPS and Fedex make mistakes too, just not as much as the post office.  

 

Consolidation and Hourly Fees

If you need us to consolidate your packages and put them into smaller packages and even to  put them on a pallet and prepare them for export, we charge $50.00 for every 1/2 per hour.

 

Package Delivery Fees to Shipping Company within 10 mile radius

Packages less than 6 cubic feet $50.00

Packages greater than 6 cubic feet or pallets $100 for the first pallet and $50.00 each additional pallet

 

Refrigerated or Perishable Items 

We have a refrigerator for our personal use.  If you need to send us perishable items for us to store them for you, you will need to let us know ahead of time to see if we can accomodate you.

 

Packages arriving from other countries

Packages arriving from other countries have to clear customs, and sometimes we get a bill 2 months later from Fedex, UPS, and DHL because the package was delivered at our location even though we are not the end receiver of the package.  For that reason, we do not accept packages arriving from other countries for customers who have virtual mailboxes.  We do accept international packages from customers who have physical mailboxes with us because it is a long term relationship.  

   

Package Notification

We receive many packages every day and set them aside for different customers.  We do not notify customers when packages have arrived.  You are welcome to send us an email with the tracking number of the package you want to check and we will happily confirm if we have received it or not.

 

Package Pickup, Advance Notice Required

We require a 24 hour notice before you can pickup your packages.  That gives us enough time, to set your packages aside and create your invoice.  

Receiving and Storage costs

Our warehouse space is very limited and are prices vary depending on the size of the package.  After the initial holding period, we charge again as if were receiving another package.  

A cubic foot is 1x1x1 or 12in.x12in.x12in. or 1,728 cubic inches

To estimate the cost of your package multiply:  Length x Width X Height

For example:  36"x24"x12" = 10,368 cubic inches

Any package less than 13,824 cubic inches would be $5.00.  Greater than that would be $10.00

Packages less than 1 lbs. and smaller than 1 cubic foot.	$2.50 per package Holding period 1 month
Packages up to 40 lbs and less than 6 cubic feet	$5.00 per package Holding period 2 weeks
41-100 lbs, or greater than 6 cubic feet	$10.00 per package Holding period 1 week
Packages greater than 100 lbs.	.10 per lb
Standard Pallets 48"x42"	$75.00 per pallet Holding period 3 days
Larger Size or Special Shape	Requires Quote
